What
should I do
if I get into
a car accident?
Follow
these five steps:
- Make sure
everyone is
OK. Call an
ambulance
if someone
has been hurt
during the
car accident.
- Call the
police. Be
cordial to
the other
drivers, but
speak only
to the police
about the
auto accident.
Don’t
admit any
fault, even
if you believe
you caused
the car accident.
Do not sign
any written
statements
at the accident
scene.
- Get the
name, address,
phone number,
and car information
(make, model,
license number)
of everyone
involved in
the auto accident.
And if there
are witnesses,
get their
contact information.
- Photograph
the scene
of the car
accident with
a disposable
camera or
cell phone.
- Call the
